Anantara Seminyak: A Room With A View

Arriving at Anantara Seminyak instantly felt relaxing with the cool ocean breezes flowing through the open lobby and views of the beach below. Ahh… back in Bali! It was our first time staying on the beach in Seminyak and it gives you a completely different vibe to staying in the hustle and bustle of Seminyak streets.

Anantara Seminyak: Our First Impressions

It’s always nice to have a sit-down check in, pampered with refreshing drinks and traditional Balinese desserts. Arriving at the Anantara, you immediately get that ‘holiday’ feeling. As soon as Chris and I walked into our room, we looked at each other in disbelief… the whole room was ours. At least for the next three nights! The Ocean View Suite is packed full of amazing features. The room is so big. Seriously, this is one of the largest hotel rooms I’ve ever stayed in. Chris and I decided we would be very happy to live in a room like this :)

Location, Location, Location

Located on the beach in Seminyak, the Anantara’s location is both stunning and relaxing, whilst being close to the amazing restaurants and boutique shops of Seminyak. It’s easy to go from hotel room, to pool, to beach, to hotel and back again.

Walking distance to some restaurants and bars, such as Moonlite Kitchen and Bar (on the rooftop of Anantara), Chez Gado Gado and La Plancha. Other restaurants in the area are best accessed by a short taxi ride.

The Room

What a room! It’s massive. Large bathroom, large living area, large bedroom and large balcony. The room feels very luxurious but comfortable at the same time. The view from our room overlooks Seminyak beach, with a beautiful view of sunset. The sunset’s easy to enjoy with a daybed on the balcony and even a jacuzzi!

Even more impressive is their attention to the little things. Some of our favourite things in the room was a towel shaped into a monkey and a sketchbook we could use.

Beyond The Room

The Anantara Seminyak is a boutique hotel with only 60 rooms. You get the unique and intimate feeling of a boutique hotel, but then you have the facilities to rival large resorts. The hotel has two restaurants, one by the pool and beach and one on the rooftop, a spa and three pools.

The standout pool has to be the infinity pool with beach views. The service at the pool is superb. During one swim, we were offered a delicious mocktail, and laying on the sunbeds comes with a basket of fruit, water and face spray.

The Anantara Spa on the rooftop gave us our very first massage of the trip! We had the 90 minute Anantara Signature Massage, and it was heaven.

We also popped up to Moonlite Kitchen and Bar a few times during our stay. Located on the rooftop, the views of Seminyak beach are pretty special, especially during sunset. Perfect place to have a cocktail and watch the sunset, or stay for dinner and enjoy the tasty Asian Cuisine.
