Visa on arrival

Many countries are eligible for a 30-day visa-free entry to Indonesia. For the list of countries click here.

Other useful information

If this is your first time to Bali, beware of people at the airport trying to carry your bag for you. They are very persistent and demand money as you exit the airport, which is not a nice way to start your Bali Holiday and certainly not the right impressions of the locals!

Bali has one international terminal and one domestic terminal in the same location.

  1. This is amazing Mandy and Chris!! Bookmarking your page! Wish I had seen this before arriving at the airport as Lonely Planet’s info is way outdated! Have done two nights in Seminyak, 6 nights in Ubud (temples, waterfall, rice fields and daily yoga) and now in Gili T for a week for snorkelling and more yoga! I’ve got 4 more days to hit one more spot in Bali before heading home to Canada. Will check your blog for ideas! Thanks!

  2. hello,
i’m traveling in July with my future wife to Bali and we booked in the Kamandalu ubud
i asked the hotel for an airport pickup i think they gave me a very high price about 60 USD
can you advise me what to do or what link, i’m thinking of getting an airport taxi to drive me to my destination.
    kindly advise.

    1. Hi Antonio, as you can see above the latest taxi price (accurate as of Feb 2016) is about 300,000 to Ubud, which is about 22 USD. So it seems this is much cheaper, so I’d probably just go the taxi :)

  3. Prices for the airport taxi counter have gone up a lot since January.

eg. the current price (November 2015) for Legian (Jl Padma) is 95k (gone up from 55k since January!!).

Also, it is a common complaint that the man that works at the international arrivals taxi counter tries to overcharge people despite having a big sign with the rates right next to him. He quoted me 150k to go to Legian on 14th November (midday). Be careful and don’t let him cheat you!

    1. Hi Rich,
Thanks for letting us know, yeah, it has gone up a lot! We’ve updated our current prices as of our last trip (February 2016), so hopefully they don’t go up anytime in the near future :)

  4. Hey!

I will be going to Bali in December and I am so happy to chance upon your website!
My host offered a pickup from the airport for $350,000 rupiah, do you think I should get my own transport after arriving at the airport instead, since it is so much cheaper from your prices above.

I will be arriving around noon:)

  5. sooooo cool to find out your site from internet while today start planning my first Bali trip!!!! :D
