Padma Resort Legian

The Padma Resort Legian is an iconic 5 star resort in Legian. Staying in Legian was a first for us this trip, and we were excited to explore! The grounds at Padma are large and green, with an abundance of pools and the new edition of the SKAI beach club makes this hotel pretty well rounded.

Padma Resort Legian: Our First Impressions

Padma Lobby

A beautiful open lobby greeted us, and as we walked to our room we were surrounded by green gardens. The hotel had quite a family feel about it, with lots of families about and games in the pool for kids. At first I thought perhaps the hotel was best suited to families, but when we discovered the newly opened SKAI beach club, we had found our happy place.

Location, Location, Location

Located in Legian, right across from Legian Beach. Easy to go to the beach during the day and walk around the shops and markets in Legian. Neighbour to Seminyak, so you can always mix it up and go here for shopping and dinner.

The Room

Padma Room

We stayed in a deluxe chalet room, which had a seating area outside overlooking the gardens. The room design was traditional Balinese style. The bathroom had a great shower with a lot of pressure!

Padma Pool

I think this is where the Padma Resort Legian really excels. They have multiple restaurants, multiple pools, spa, green grounds, and their newly opened SKAI beach club.

We had dinner at their Tenkai Japanese restaurant. We went to their teppanyaki buffet night, and I have to say it was pretty tasty! You get to select all the ingredients you want and then hand them over to the chef to cook in front of you. Such a fun experience.

The pools were beautiful and huge, although I did feel like they had more of a family focus. And then we discovered SKAI beach club.

SKAI beach club at Padma

SKAI beach club was opened in May this year, and is perched on the highest corner of the hotel across from the beach. It has great views of Legian beach, from both seat or pool. We loved swimming in the infinity pool at sunset, and enjoying the cocktails and snacks from the restaurant. A must try is the carpaccio beef rendang, because it was so delicious! SKAI beach club was the perfect way to end a day, with great sunset views, food and pool.

  1. enjoyed both the Stones and Padma writeup as I am torn between the 2. we are a couple in our sixties.. and looking at the cooking schools. would you say Stones food is on par with Padma should we choose to eat our meals at the hotels?

    thanks, Lola

    1. Hi Lola, Thanks for getting in touch.
We loved the food at both hotels… so that probably doesn’t help! In terms of cooking schools at the hotels, we didn’t do one at Padma, and the one we did at The stones I believe needs to be pre-organised. I would definitely eat some of your meals at the hotel because the food really was delicious. But there are also some fabulous restaurants nearby so I would definitely eat out some nights too :)

Let me know if you have any other questions and good luck deciding!
