There is so much to love about Sofitel Nusa Dua. The type of design that makes you take photos for inspiration. Food that gets you excited. And a room and grounds so good that you can’t decide whether to stay in or go out.
Sofitel Nusa Dua: Our First Impressions
Sofitel Nusa Dua makes a bold impression as you walk into the lobby area, with grand wooden ceilings and circular lit stairs. Everywhere you look, there is something fabulous to see, from the grass rooftop to the maze-like pool. A modern and sophisticated design with Balinese references.
Location, Location, Location
This was the first time we had stayed in Nusa Dua, and we were pretty curious to see what it was like, as it’s got a reputation as having big hotels and a bit lacking in culture. Well, although this is true to an extent, Nusa Dua actually has a lot more going for it. The beaches are calm and swimmable, and Pandawa Beach, one of the most beautiful beaches in Bali, is only a short drive away. Tanjung Benoa, Nusa Dua’s neighbour, has a wide variety of water sports available and one of the best Balinese restaurants. And Nusa Dua can serve as a great base, still an easy driving distance to Jimbaran, Seminyak and Uluwatu for day trips and dinner. The hotel itself is right on the beachfront.
The Room
Modern. Well designed. Furniture that looked like it jumped straight out of a design magazine. The room at the Sofitel Nusa Dua ticked all the boxes. Rain shower that felt like a mini-massage. A bath that looked almost too good to get wet. Views of the ocean and maze-like pool. And a very good nights sleep. One of my favourite parts, was being able to open up the entire room, so the bathroom and bedroom became one.
Beyond The Room
The first thing we did when we arrived at Sofitel Nusa Dua was have their Magnifique Brunch. This is a special buffet brunch they have available on weekends. We were blown away!
There was so much delicious food available I was completely overwhelmed. Where do we start? From pasta made to order to beef wellingtons on rotation, to the fresh seafood, salads, juices, cheeses, pastries and desserts. They even had a marshmallow station with mini fires to cook them. Oh, and you can order smaller dishes off a menu too. Which we did. And we loved.
To top off our day, we had a relaxing Balinese massage at So Spa, which was a standout amongst the many we had already had in Bali. The room and service were ultra luxurious.
Swimming in the pool here is like swimming through a tropical maze, as the main pool area sprawls out into narrower secluded swimming paths under bridges and beside luscious greenery.
Spending time in Club Millésime was like a little escape, from the cozy lounges to the plush pool.

Did u stay in luxury kibg ocean/sea view room or just luxury king room? Will appreciate your prompt reply.
Hi Zubair, it was a luxury king room with lagoon view. Have a great time :)
Just booked a break at the hotel in June, will be my first time in Bali. Is it easy to arrange trips to Udun and Rice Terraces via the front desk? Any tips you could give me would be appreciated
Hi Adrian, it should be fairly easy to organise with the concierge. Otherwise, it can also be organised online via a private driver. We have an article on Bali private driver experiences here: https://almostlanding-bali.com/discover-a-different-side-to-bali-with-your-bali-private-driver/. We loved our stay at Sofitel Nusa Dua, hope you have a great trip!
