Our Stay At Hotel Indigo Bali Seminyak Beach

Hotel Indigo Bali Seminyak Beach is a new 5-star hotel in Seminyak. It manages to feel both grand and like a secret little escape at the same time, probably because of it’s brilliant design and lovely staff. There is something special about this beautiful hotel that continues to reveal itself to you throughout your stay. It quickly became one of our favourite Seminyak Hotels.

First Impressions

Hotel Indigo Bali Seminyak Beach Grounds

Driving into this beautiful hotel you immediately get this grand feeling, even just from the driveway. The stunning design feels like you’re driving into an ancient temple and then the interiors are fun, modern and so detailed that you discover more little things every time you walk through the lobby or explore the grounds. The check-in process is easy and relaxing, being immediately escorted to a lounge to receive a welcome drink. But most of all, what made a beautiful impression, was how friendly and kind all the staff were.

Hotel Indigo Beach Bar

Hotel Indigo Bali Seminyak Beach Main Pool Sunset

Hotel Indigo Bali Seminyak Beach, is, as the name suggests, right on the beach, although there is a tiny road separating the hotel from its bar on the beach. The beach area or by the pool are perfect spots to watch the sunset. Although located in Seminyak, it’s in the southern end of Seminyak, bordering Legian. So it’s a great location if you want to explore Legian and Kuta too. Nearby the hotel you have restaurants like Chez Gado Gado, beach bars like La Plancha and cafes like Nalu Bowls and Shelter Cafe. I love how the hotel celebrates it’s surrounding neighbourhood, highlighting the best spots around the area.

Views From Oasis Room 2205

We stayed in an Oasis Room which overlooks the secret garden swimming pool. The views were beautiful with so much greenery, we loved sitting out on the daybed on the balcony. Another thing you notice as soon as you walk in is how large the rooms are, starting at 50 SQM. It almost feels like you have your own little lobby area, you also have a separate walk-in wardrobe, a beautiful bathroom, not to mention the bed which is huge and cosy. There were some lovely little touches like a manual juicer with complimentary oranges and a beautiful Kevala ceramics teapot in your room.

Rolled Ice Cream By The Pool

The room was special enough, but the grounds of Hotel Indigo Bali Seminyak Beach were stunning. One of my favourite areas was the secret garden pool area, which was surrounded by beautiful greenery. The main pool is also great, with so many seating options, from poolside lounges to cabana areas. One of my favourite things about the main pool was the rolled ice cream that you can get. Choose your flavours (we chose dragonfruit, strawberry and mint) to get mashed into the ice cream and frozen into rolls, it was delicious.

If you go exploring you will also come across a beautiful area, I believe for meetings and events, that has stunning features like oversized vibrant yellow doors and walkways that create beautiful shadows.

Hotel Indigo Breakfast

I loved waking up to the tasty breakfast each morning, where you can get your eggs made to order (eggs benedict was a favourite) and you can also choose from the many buffet options. The confit cherry tomatoes, bircher muesli, almond croissants and freshly made juices were all so good.

If you’re looking for food for lunch or dinner, there are plenty of places to eat at Hotel Indigo Bali Seminyak Beach. They also have a beachfront bar by the beach which is great to get a drink and watch the sunset.

  1. Hi Mandy and Chris – Really loving your video clips on the hotels (was going to discount Hotel Indigo until I saw your clip so thank you) Looks like you stayed in a few in Seminyak that I have shortlisted. We too are from Sydney – Taking my 19 year old daughter for 10 days to Bali for another daughter break (6 days based in Seminyak and 4 in Ubud). Happy to book through your links so you get something out of it …. We love great food, would prefer nice property (as Im ex Hospitality so a wee bit fussy) and we’ve travelled a bit….nice large room (I’m sure daughter would love her own bed) nice pool and some great Bars close by…..where springs to mind…is there anywhere that we could have our own plunge pool that doesn’t costs a bond. Would prefer to stay under the $250-$270 per night mark. Thanks in advance Jen

    1. Hi Jenny, sounds like it will be an amazing trip! Hotel Indigo is definitely a great pick, we absolutely loved our stay and the grounds of this hotel are so large and stunning. So happy our video helped, thanks for the lovely feedback!
The prices of hotels in Bali can fluctuate so much, so it will depend on the dates you are travelling as well. But from what you’ve said, in Seminyak, Hotel Indigo is fantastic, offers so much value for money, highly recommend it! its in the south area of Seminyak bordering Legian, there are a few bars nearby like La Plancha and Cocoon, and if you want to go further north in Seminyak you can either walk along the beach or jump in a taxi. Another option with a private pool is Maca Villas, that is in the northern part, Petitenget, which isn’t too far from some great cafes, one of our favourites in that area is Cafe Cartel. It’s also not too far from Potato Head Beach Club.
For Ubud, if you want to stay in the village, Warwick Ibah has a nice traditional design and large rooms, or Alaya Resort Ubud is super central and easy to walk everywhere. If you want to stay on the outskirts of Ubud, Padma Resort Ubud is fantastic. Hope you and your daughter have an amazing time in Bali :) Let us know if you have any other questions. Here are the links if you want to have a look at the hotels…
Thanks again, Mandy and Chris :)
