Here is our Bali Itinerary for 2011 and 2012. Below is a quick snapshot of where we went and for how long with a mini-review so you can see what worked and what didn’t.
Our Bali Itinerary – 2011
Tuban/South Kuta
Sunday 6th of November
Stayed overnight in Tuban. Close to Airport and flight got in late. Checked out some of south Kuta before heading out to Ubud the next morning.
Ubud
Monday 7th of November – Wednesday 9th of November
Stayed in Ubud village, explored Ubud village by foot and saw some of the surrounding areas to Ubud. Did a cooking class in the outskirts of Ubud which included a market tour and cooking in a family compound. Lot’s of eating, massages and walking.
Jimbaran Bay
Wednesday 9th of November – Monday 14th of November
Headed to Jimbaran Bay. From here we also explored Kuta, Legian, Seminyak and Uluwatu. We also went back to Ubud on a day trip (cycling through villages) that we didn’t have time to do whilst there. Although it would have been easier to do from Ubud, we are so glad we did it.
Itinerary Review
Pro’s: Staying near airport on first and last night – Bali traffic can be unpredictable
Con’s: Trip length too short and still other places to discover
Highlight: Exploring Ubud and Ubud Cooking Class
Our Bali Itinerary – 2012
Jimbaran Bay
Wednesday 12th of September
One night here as it’s close to the airport and our flight got in late.
Ubud
Thursday 13th of September – Sunday 16th of September
We had to re-vist Ubud. I thought second time around maybe wouldn’t be as good, but I was wrong. We saw a completely different Ubud this time as we explored things we didn’t get to see the first time.
Gili Trawangan – Lombok
Sunday 16th of September – Tuesday 18th of September
Transport from Ubud to Padang Bai where we got a speedboat to Gili Trawangan. Explored the island, swam, snorkelled, walked, hired bicycle’s, ate, relaxed.
Senggigi – Lombok
Tuesday 18th of September – Wednesday 19th of September
Speedboat to Senggigi – stayed just outside of Senggigi for one night. Explored Senggigi and surrounds.
Jimbaran Bay
Wednesday 19th of September – Tuesday 25th of September
Back to Jimbaran Bay to end the trip. From here we also explored Kuta, Legian, Seminyak, Uluwautu and Nusa Dua.
Itinerary Review
Pro’s: Ending trip with 6 days based in one spot allowed us to relax before coming home
Con’s: Too little time on Lombok mainland – so much more to explore
Highlight: Discovering Lombok!

I need to know charges in NZ dollars…thanks.
Please Email me your charges…I am only interested in visiting villages out of Kuta….I have noticed, no one show their charges.
