There is no shortage of incredible food in Ubud, in fact, if you head to Ubud only for a few days there are way more ‘must visits’ than there are eating slots! Pica Ubud is definitely worth a slot. We enjoyed a delicious lunch at PICA South American Kitchen. We had planned on heading here for dinner ourselves however it was a hot day in Ubud and Mandy and I looked at each other as we were walking past, and thought the airy seats out of the sun, and a good ceviche would be better than air con at hitting refresh. (2017 Update: Pica Ubud is no longer open for lunch. Please see current opening hours at the end of the article).
Mahi-Mahi Ceviche
In regards to ‘hitting refresh’, it certainly did. Fresh and packed that flavour punch we were in need of. We love ceviche (Mandy in particular) and everything about it was delicious! If you head to Pica Ubud ceviche is a must. I mean look at it…super fresh and super colourful and exciting!
Chicken Main
We chose the chicken main… the chicken could not have been cooked better. Perhaps a little on the small side for a main but yet again another great meal and paired with some ceviche and dessert the size was fine. There was none of the rich sauce left on the plate when we were through!
Milk Cake
Having never had anything like this before we did not know what to expect. Expect an incredible end to your meal. If all milk cakes are this good the world would be a better place.
We had heard so many great things about Pica Ubud before we ate here. It lived up to the hype in our eyes :) When you’re in Ubud if you are looking for a change from the great Indonesian food in Ubud, and craving some South American flair in your itinerary then Pica is for you.
